Handcrafted Brass lamp topped with a shield depicting the Goddess Kamakshi, an incarnation of Shakthi with Lakshmi and Saraswati in her eyes. She is depicted seated on her lotus throne, flanked by two elephants showering holy water on her. She is took birth on earth to save the Gods from the wrath of the Asuras, and is said to have taken seat in Kanchipuram. The Kamakshi lamp is a traditional gift to newly wed brides from their mothers, and also from the wedding guests. It is also an auspicious gift for housewarmings. The lamp must be placed in front of the Gods in the Puja room and lit twice a day at dawn and dusk. The lamp’s light will bestow the home with prosperity, peace, and harmony in relationships.
